2017 in a Nutshell
It is hard to believe that just a few short months ago I launched my very own photography business. It still feels weird when people ask me what I do now that I left my full-time job... I find myself not being able to say "I'm a photographer" and I usually end up saying "I take photos". I'm not quite sure when I'll make the transition to saying "I'm a photographer" or if it will even happen!
I still have a lot to learn but am so pleased with how far I have come since this summer {my very first session with another family}. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to every single person who scheduled a session with me. You have no idea how much you make my heart jump every time I see a message about scheduling a session.
In a nutshell - 2017 was an investment year. Six months of learning, growing and building my own photography business. I invested in myself through knowledge and education while investing in my business through props and equipment. With that being said... I booked 38 sessions this year. THREE. EIGHT. Today was the first time I counted and I was literally amazed... amazed that 38 different times people entrusted ME with capturing their family. 38 times that people thought I was the "photographer" for them!
38 is going to be a special number for me from now on.... Next year, I'm going for triple digits!
